A local's guide: Top 20 best activities & things to do in Aruba for your large wedding party or friends

Planning a destination wedding in Aruba not only promises stunning landscapes and perfect weather but also offers a whole host of activities and experiences for you and your wedding party to enjoy, making it the perfect wedding destination. Here’s a guide to getting the most of your time in Aruba with your loved ones, before and after the big day.

Beach Day Extravaganza

Aruba is renowned for its breathtaking beaches, and what better way to kick off your wedding celebrations than with a beach day? Either arrange for a private beach cabana or rent beach chairs and umbrellas for your group. Spend the day soaking up the sun, swimming in the clear turquoise waters, and enjoying piña coladas delivered right to your spot in the sand. You can even organize beach games like volleyball or paddleboarding for some friendly competition and laughs (just make sure no one gets injured before the wedding).

WATERSPORTS: EAGLE BEACH & PALM BEACH

SNORKELING: TRES TRAPI (TURTLES) & BABY BEACH

CHILLING AND SUNBATHING: ARASHI, MANGEL HALTO, MANCHEBO

PRIVATE BEACH: RODGER’S BEACH, GRAPEFIELDS BEACH

Sunset Sail and Dinner Cruise

Treat your wedding party to a magical sunset sail and dinner cruise along Aruba’s stunning coastline. Board a luxurious catamaran or yacht with Pelican Adventures Aruba and set sail just as the sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink. Enjoy cocktails and hors d'oeuvres as you cruise along the shore, then savor a delicious dinner under the stars. It’s the perfect opportunity to relax, unwind, and catch up with your closest friends and family while looking out onto the exquisite Caribbean Sea. Alternatively, if you want something less formal, you can book a Jolly Pirates cruise - filled with rope swings, unlimited booze and good times!

Explore Aruba’s Natural Wonders

A common misconception is that Aruba’s only attraction is beaches. Take my word for it, we have loads of different places for you to explore! For example, you can take your wedding party on an adventure to explore the island’s diverse landscapes. Visit Arikok National Park to discover rugged desert terrain, ancient caves adorned with Arawak petroglyphs, and stunning viewpoints overlooking the coastline. Hike to natural pools where you’ll be able to swim in crystal-clear waters surrounded by dramatic rock formations. It’s the perfect chance to connect with nature and experience the unique charm of Aruba’s wilderness. You can also book an adventure session, and I’ll take you to some hidden gems on the island.

Indulge in Local cuisine and Nightlife

No destination wedding in Aruba is complete without experiencing its vibrant culinary scene and lively nightlife. Your wedding party can get a taste of Aruba’s flavors at a local restaurant specializing in fresh seafood, Caribbean fusion dishes, or traditional Aruban cuisine like keshi yena (stuffed cheese) and pan bati (cornbread). After dinner, head to Palm Beach or downtown Oranjestad for a night of dancing, live music, and cocktails at one of our amazing beach clubs or bars. It’s the ideal way to celebrate love, friendship, and the excitement of your upcoming wedding day. If you’re looking for a dining experience without the cruise part, Barefoot and Flying fishbone offer a fine dining seafood experience that is to die for. On the more casual side you have Zeerovers, which is still some of the best fish I’ve had on the island - and that’s saying something!

Relax and rejuvenate

Wedding planning can be hectic, so you should definitely take some time to relax and rejuvenate with your wedding party. Schedule a spa day at one of Aruba’s luxurious resorts or wellness centers. Treat yourselves to massages, facials, and pampering treatments that will leave you feeling refreshed and ready for your wedding day. Many resorts actually offer special bridal and groom packages, ensuring everyone feels pampered and relaxed before the festivities begin. You can also book a day at the Renaissance Island, if they have any spots left that is - it tends to get booked up pretty quickly but definitely worthwhile checking. Or you could treat yourself to some beautiful new jewelry at my family store Noble Jewelers.

Water sports and adventure activities

For the more adventurous members of your wedding party, Aruba offers a host of thrilling water sports and outdoor activities. Go snorkeling or scuba diving to explore vibrant coral reefs teeming with turtles, fish, and so much more! Perhaps you want to try kitesurfing in the island’s constant trade winds. If neither of those sound good to you, then you can always go offroading (something I always do with either ABC tours or De Palm Tours and highly recommend) or go horseback riding along secluded trails. Essentially, it doesn’t matter whether you’re seeking adrenaline-pumping adventures or serene moments in nature, because Aruba has something for everyone to enjoy.

Final Thoughts

Your destination wedding in Aruba is not just about the ceremony and reception—it’s about creating unforgettable memories with your nearest and dearest. From relaxing beach days and sunset cruises to exploring natural wonders and indulging in local cuisine, there is no shortage of Aruban adventures you can choose to enhance your wedding celebrations.

All I have left to say is... get ready for an unforgettable wedding adventure in paradise!
